And so the curtain falls on the 2019 FIM Supersport 600 world championship. The stage for the final round was the Losail International Circuit in Qatar, illuminated by the many floodlights that made for an even more exciting, not to mention hard-fought, grand finale. Randy Krummenacher started from second on the grid, just behind team-mate Federico Caricasulo. The Bardahl Evan Bros. riders were the main title contenders. Krummenacher harnessed his talent and experience, managing to remain focused on the ultimate goal. The Swiss rider crossed the line in fifth place, right behind his team-mate, securing the title of World Champion with an advantage of 6 points over the runner-up. The Swiss rider put together an incredible season, accumulating 213 points over 12 races to achieve the coveted world title.
Krummenacher wants to thank everyone who has helped and supported him on this great adventure.
#RK21: “Two days after the event and it’s starting to sink in that I’ve actually achieved the dream I’d been chasing for 24 years. It’s been an intense season, full of satisfaction and though there were also tough times, I never stopped believing. It’s fantastic to have achieved the goal I set myself when I was just five years old. When I crossed the line in this final race, I thought it was a dream, and then I saw my girlfriend, my manager and my brother-in-law and I’ll never forget those hugs, just as I’ll never forget the happy faces and shining eyes of my team in parc fermé. I don’t have the words to thank everyone, starting with my family, my girlfriend and our children, who gave me the strength to fight even in the difficult moments. Huge thanks go to my team, as they have worked so hard all season and always believed in me. Thanks to my sponsors, without whom none of this would have been possible, thanks to my fan club, and thanks to my friends who have always encouraged me and who were waiting for us when we got home yesterday so we could celebrate together. Thanks to Team Bardahl Evan Bros. and everyone who has been a part of this fantastic adventure. I still have a strong desire to win and hope that this is only the beginning of a long series of exciting achievements.”
