Aragòn (Spain) 6 April 2019
The Superbike and Supersport world championships have landed in Spain, at the Aragon circuit, for the first European round of the 2019 season. Following victory in Australia and a second-place finish at the Buriram track in Thailand, Krummenacher was back on track yesterday for the first free practice session, in which he finished with the sixth fastest time. In the afternoon, the second session was characterised by heavy rain that continued for the duration of the practice. Krummenacher found excellent feeling with his bike in the wet, setting the second fastest time.
This morning, at 11.40 local time, the Superpole kicked off, the all-important qualifying session that established grid positions for the race. The Team Bardahl Evan Bros rider recorded the third quickest time, stopping the clock on 1’54.227 and thus earning himself third place on tomorrow’s race grid. The 16-lap race is set to get underway at 12.15 local time.
#RK21: “I’m pleased with today’s result. I wasn’t able to make the quickest lap but that’s OK as I know I have great pace and can be consistent from the beginning to the end of the race. Yesterday, in FP2, I had great feeling in the wet and this is really satisfying because it’s the first time since coming to Supersport that I have been able to be quick in the rain. Thanks to my team for always doing great work, I hope to repay them with a result tomorrow.”
