Buriram (Thailand) 1 December 2018
The first Supersport 600 race of this weekend’s Asian ARRC championship event has now concluded. Yesterday, Randy Krummenacher, called upon by Team WeBike Ikazuchi to stand in for Australian rider Anthony West, finished second in the day’s opening session and fourth in the subsequent sessions, setting a best time of 1’39.500. In this morning’s qualifying, the Swiss rider placed fifth, thus earning a spot on the second row of the grid.
At 3:05pm local time (GMT+7), the lights went out and the first Supersport 600 ARRC race of the weekend got underway at the very hot Thai track. Krummenacher, who was unable to find good feeling with the bike due to a few technical problems, crossed the line in twelfth place. Tomorrow, again at 3.05pm, race 2 will play out, the final and decisive race of this season’s Asian Championship. Watch the race live on the Facebook and YouTube channels of the Asia Road Racing Championship.
#RK21: “This new experience got underway yesterday with the three practice sessions that went well. This morning I set the fifth time in qualifying which meant I started from row two of the grid. Unfortunately, I was unable to push as I wanted due some technical problems that the team is now looking into to. I hope to do better in tomorrow’s second race but I nevertheless consider this experience to be good training as I’ll be back here in March for the World Supersport round.”
