Imola (Italy) 11 May 2019
The fifth round of the FIM Supersport world championship is taking place at the historic “Enzo e Dino Ferrari” in Imola, Italy. Randy Krummenacher, having suffered a crash in practice on Friday, put together an incredible Superpole session today. The Swiss rider, as well as scoring a front row start, also set a new lap record, stopping the clocks on 1’50.239.
Everything bodes well then for tomorrow’s race, which will get underway at 12.15 local time. Randy Krummenacher, having put aside yesterday’s crash, caused as a result of another rider crashing in front of him, showed exactly what he is made of, once again proving to be fast and consistent.
#RK21: “Yesterday was a bit of a difficult day. In the second free practice, a rider crashed in front of me and I couldn’t avoid his bike. I crashed but fortunately I didn’t hurt myself and the bike wasn’t too badly damaged. My team, as ever, worked impeccably and, also thanks to them, I was able to score the Tissot Superpole and set a new lap record. I’m happy and know I have good prospects for tomorrow’s race. It would be great to win because Italy is my second home and as well as having family here, I also have many friends and sponsors. I hope to be able to give them all a great result.”
