Evan Bros Racing Team is the natural evolution of a passion first shown back in 1959 by father Umberto who ran a small car parts shop in Ravenna. The store was passed down to sons Fabio and Paolo who, over time, took up the baton. As well as dedication and professionalism, Umberto instilled in his sons an innate passion for engines, racing and speed, something that would lead them to star in the motocross world for a decade, at extremely high levels in Italy and Europe.
The small team created by Fabio and Paolo came about in 1985, the name inspired by the ‚White Bros. Team‘, Fabio’s logistical support structure in California, USA, and by the ‚Evan‘ nickname given to his brother Paolo following his first MX wins. In that period, Team Evan Bros. achieved significant results at a regional, national and also European level, obtaining 4th place overall in the 125 European Championship in 1990, before competing in the 125 MX world championship up until 1994. Then, after a break from racing, Fabio and Paolo’s passion for motorsport was reignited one spring day when they took part – purely for fun – in a Honda Day at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari track in Imola where their dad had often taken them to watch the legendary 200 Miles and phenomenal Kenny Roberts.
The Imola asphalt and the speed immediately saw the adrenaline kick in, leading Fabio to compete for several years in the Honda CBR 600 Trophy, and then in the Mototemporada, the Premier Cup and an Italian Supersport championship test practically a dream!
During those years, Fabio build a real friendship with Mauro Pellegrini, first a Superbike rider and then his trusted mechanic. This pairing brought about the final and current phase of Team Evan Bros. that had, in the meantime, become a real team with a well-equipped workshop, racing department and suitable transportation.
At the end of the 2012 season, Fabio and Mauro therefore decided to invest in young riders and particularly in local, Ravenna-based talent. Marco Faccani therefore came on board in 2013 and, together, rider and team took on the CIV 600 Supersport series. It was a positive season that saw them clock up 3 race wins, 2 second place finished, a third place and a fourth place, and participate as a wildcard entry in two world championship rounds, at Imola and Jerez De la Frontera, where they obtained their first world championship point thanks to a great 15th place finish.
In 2014 the team ‚bet‘ on young Ravenna rider Federico Caricasulo, taking part in the European Superstock 600 championship and the Italian Supersport 600 championship. Results spoke for themselves, the bet had paid off! In 2016, team Evan Bros Racing lined up in the Supersport 600 world championship with Federico, reaching the podium at the opening round of Phillip Island and continuing on to achieve excellent results!
